Research and Development Programs

ACART’s research and development activities are focused on achieving improved fuel consumption and lower emissions for passenger vehicles and trucks. To do this, ACART has expertise in:

1. chassis and engine dynamometer testing to Euro IV for gasoline and diesel;
2. environmental wind tunnel testing;
3. alternative fuels (biofuels, CNG, diesel, hydrogen, LNG, LPG and petrol);
4. combustion and engine simulation;
5. laser and other diagnostics for combustion and fuel sprays;
6. modelling and control of conventional and hybrid powertrains..

ACART is currently running projects in several of these areas, both internally and with external collaborators and clients.
